Our story

Fast forward to December, still 2017, it's the holidays, a Wednesday, my wife and I had gone shopping and as we always do, we stopped at our usual coffee capsule shop, waiting in line, reflecting on the number of capsules we should order, 160 was our magic number. It's now our turn, just about to order, I paused, looked at the wall of capsules right in front of me, wondered how much off that wall would represent our yearly 1920 capsules. I stepped away from the counter looked into my wife's eyes and without a say, she knew what I was thinking. We left the store.

Here's where this is coming from, over the years, we always felt a certain discomfort every time we used coffee capsules. The idea of disposing of them was not convincing enough that they were indeed being recycled, even though we were dropping them off for recycling. The reality is that the capsules are only 25% recyclable, and the rest of the material ends up in some landfill.

My passion for a coffee shop turned into a passion for a smart and environmentally friendly way to prevent the waste that we were generating, needless to say the rest of the world.

January 2018, an idea became a reality. In a few words here's how it went, take a deep breath ... defining the product catalog ... drawings ... mockups ... branding ... logo ... packaging ... sleepless nights ... sampling ... testing .... testing and yet again testing ... phew!!! Then, design the website ... sleepless nights ... production's on the way ...

A brand is born ... "mlovepod" ... a reusable eco-friendly coffee capsule for Nespresso®, illy®, Caffitaly®, Tchibo®, Verismo®, Aldi® and K-fee® systems.
